Former UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin poses with Andy after a workout at TCB Fitness

The Coach

Andy Lewis is a certified Fitness Professional who has been training in a gym environment for over 20 years. He has been active throughout his life playing a variety of sports and excelled in both hockey and professional wrestling. He is the proud owner/operator of TCB Fitness!

Andy moved with his family to Edmonton in 1986. He grew up there, playing hockey until university. It was at that time he decided to become serious about his fitness level and his body and hired a Personal Trainer. He learned quickly which fueled his passion for fitness and weight training leading to the pursuit of one of his life long dreams: becoming a Professional Wrestler.

In April 1996, Andy moved to Winnipeg to begin training. Similar to his experience with the gym, Andy learned and adapted quickly and within four months made his first wrestling trip to the United States. That trip set off a chain of events which led Andy to chase his dream outside of Canada, spending time living and wrestling in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Mexico, Japan and England. Some life changes in August 2004 paved the way for a new direction in his life.

After several years of working in the dairy, alcohol and soda industries, Andy has come back to one of his original loves; physical activity. More specifically, Personal Training.

His personal love for the gym combined with his desire and motivation to help others reach their goals, improve themselves and make everyone around him smile drives him on a daily basis. He loves working with individuals just starting their training journey or are a bit timid when it comes to being in a gym setting. He also loves the challenge of working with those individuals who have hit plateaus in their training and are looking to make some positive changes to re-start their progress.

Andy feels that training in the gym is rewarding in all physical, mental and emotional levels. He truly believes that coming to the gym and working out is one of the most empowering and rewarding activities an individual can engage in. Constantly improving yourself in the gym will ultimately lead to personal improvement outside the gym.

“Strive for excellence, exceed yourself, love your friends, speak the truth, practice fidelity and honor your father and mother. These principles will help you master yourself, make you strong, give you hope and put you on the path to greatness” – Joe Weider

How did the name TCB FITNESS originate?

Where did the name “TCB Fitness” come from? It’s simple. When Andy was first discussing with family and friends some time ago what he would call a training facility if he ever owned one, he wanted it to be something that was a part of him, something he believed in and something he thought he could promote and discuss with pride, joy and a smile on his face!

The brainstorming was quick and easy. Being an enthusiastic music lover and being known amongst family and friends for being a passionate Elvis Presley fan, Andy looked no further than the “TCB Lightning Bolt” around his neck, a symbol created by Elvis himself. The TCB Lightning Bolt was worn by members of Elvis’ inner circle, his “Memphis Mafia”. He also wrote a creedo  for the symbol (with a touch of humour) that Andy admires greatly:

THE TCB OATH –

More self-respect, more respect for fellow man.
Respect for fellow students and instructors.
Respect for all styles and techniques.
Body conditioning, mental conditioning, meditation for calming and stilling of the mind and body.
Sharpen your skills, increase mental awareness, for all those that might choose a new outlook and personal philosophy.
Freedom from constipation.

TCB TECHNIQUE

All techniques into one.
Elvis Presley 8th
Applying all techniques into one

Elvis’  TCB Logo  also served as the inspiration for the TCB Fitness logo.
